A few explanations on terms on my website.

Colour Blends

Blends are a combination of two or more cololurs to give a textured appearance either medium or large effect.

Gradation

Commonly known as Ombre.  Gradations are different hues or tones partnered and fading into each other.

Single colours

One colour used to dye.  Saying this, the technique I use does result in highlights and shadows of the one hue used, which results in a finished product with more depth than conventional dying techniques.

Custom Orders

Custom orders can be arranged. Custom orders can be in the form of special dying colourstyle, special sizes or pieces. Price and the approximate shipping time will be confirmed on enquiry.

Finishing

All our products have finished seams.  All seams are sewn prior to dying, with silk thread which is imperative to my process as it means both the silk fabric and the stitching are coloured and uniform in their pattern and colour.

The Dyes

Our dyes are Procion MX Dyes. They are low toxicity dyes. They give vibrant and durable colour to our silks. We use minimal chemicals to get your silk to you as naturally as possible! These dyes are commonly used in many beautiful tie dye tshirts and garments you see. We process them so they’re quite stable. They launder well, have minimal discharge with no overall laundry stress, and are durable and colourfast. As we add some extra steps to finishing our product, we think you’ll be pleased at how durable our dyeing quality is. We steam press each and every silk item, which helps to set the dyes more permanently for a better quality fabric.
